SAIL invites applications for the post of Junior Managers(Projects) from young and result oriented engineers with experience in the areas of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil engineering. The compensation package on cost to company basis would be around Rs.4 lakh per annum. The posts are in E1 grade with scale of pay of Rs.10,750-300-16,750/- and other allowances & benefits applicable to the grade. Salary revision is due from January 2007.
Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines:
Mechanical
Electrical or
Civil
from a recognized University/Institute.
Age : Born not earlier than October 1, 1974 (Upper age limit of 32 years is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates). Those domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from 1/1/80 to 31/12/89 will be allowed 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
Experience : 3 years’ experience in planning, implementing, organizing, executing project designs, systems, procedures and processes. The experience should preferably be in Steel, Metallurgy, Refractory, Mining, Heavy Engineering, Cement or Construction Industry of respectable size.
SELECTION : Written Examination: Eligible candidates will be required to appear for objective type written examination in December 2006/January 2007 at Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

While applying online, candidate should have their e-mail ID (WHICH MUST BE VALID FOR MINIMUM OF SIX MONTHS) and Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 500/- as examination fee for General and OBC candidates or a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 150/- as processing fee for SC/ST&PH candidates, readily available, as the DD details and valid e-mail ID are mandatory fields without which applications will not be registered. SC/ST & Orthopaedically Physically Handicapped candidates are required to submit a self-attested copy of Caste/Disability certificate alongwith Demand Draft. The Demand Drafts are non-refundable and should be drawn in favour of "STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED" payable at State Bank of India, Service Branch (Code No. 7687), New Delhi. The online registration site would be open from
10thOctober, 2006 to 31st October, 2006. All correspondence with candidates shall be done through e-mail only. All information regarding examination schedule/admit card/interview call letters etc. shall be provided through email. Responsibility of receiving, downloading and printing of admit card shall be of the candidate. SAIL will not be responsible for any loss of email sent, due to invalid/wrong email ID provided by the candidate.
After applying online, candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details with space for passport size photograph & signature. In order to save the data entered, applicants should click on the “save” button and then print the Registration Slip. The Original Registration Slip, Demand Draft with name duly written on the back of DD and a self attested copy of Caste/Physically Handicapped certificate (for reserved category only) is to be sent, by ORDINARY POST(since post bag do not accept registered posts) to Steel Authority of India Limited, Post Bag No. 10, Lodhi Road Post Office, New Delhi -110003, so as to reach latest by 14th November, 2006. Candidates should take special care NOT to staple the demand draft. Candidate may use steel pin (if required ).
