Application invited for the position of System Administrator on contractual basis at the high performance computing facility at hte Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, India. The system administrator is expected to manage saveral Linix clusters, associated facilities and infrastructure, participate in planning of adding new clusters and helping users. Experience in Linux / Unix system administration is an essential requirement. Knowledge of high performance computing system, batch queue systems and administration of network services is desirable. Those with a B.E/B.Tech. in Computer Science or BCA or MCA with minimum of 60% marks are eligible to apply. Physicists or Mathematicians with a Ph.D. and having considerable experience of computing and system administration will also be considerd. In case of candidate has the required experience in Linux Administration it may be possible to relax the minimum qualification. The System Administrator will be paid a consolidated salary commensurate with their experience and qualifications. Efforts will be made to provide appropriate institute accomodation. This manpower requirementvis under the XIth plan project and is contingent upon the XIth plan funding being cleared by Govt. of India and will co-terminate and the end of XIth plan period.
