SSC Armed Forces Medical Services in Army

Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Medical Corps

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals both male and female who have passed their final MBBS examination for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Medical Corps.

Eligibility: Candidates must possess medical qualification. Post Graduate degree holders i.e. MD/MS/MCh/DM may also apply. PG Degree in following subjects will be given preference (a) Anaesthesiab (b) Surgery (c) Obstetrics (d) Gynaecology (d) Medicine.

Age : must not have attained 45 years of age on 31st Dec 2007.

Method of Selection : Eligible candidates will be called for interview by a Board of officers at the Office of DGAFMS, Ministry of Defence, 'M' Block, New Delhi in the month of July 2007.

Pay : The candidates on commissioning in Army Dental Corps will be granted the rank of Capt. in the scale of Rs.9450-9600-300-11400 plus rank pay of Rs.400/-. Non-practicing allowance at the rate of 25% of the Basic pay and Dearness Allowance.

Tenure : The tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 5 years (total SSC tenure 10 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria.

SSC Army Dental Corps PG Entry in Army

Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Dental Corps Post Graduate Entry

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Dental Corps.

Eligibility: Candidates must be MDS from a recognized College. Should be in possession of Permanent Dental Registration. Less than 45 years of age as on 31 Dec 2007. Candidates appearing for MDS final year examination may also apply. However, such candidates will submit proof of their having passed MDS final year examination at the time of interview.

Interview : Selection Board for selection of eandidates will be held in the Office of the DGAFMS, Ministry of Defence, 'M' Block, Behind North Block, New Delhi - 110001. All the candidates applying for commission by 20 June 2007 will be required to appear for an interview before the Selection Board (Formal call letters for interview will be sent by post).

Pay : The candidates on commissioning in Army Dental Corps will be granted the rank of Capt. in the scale of Rs.9450-9600-300-11400 plus rank pay of Rs.400/-. Non-practicing allowance at the rate of 25% of the Basic pay and Dearness Allowance.

However, on completion of 2 years service as SSC officer, they are eligible to apply for Departmental Permanent Commission provided they had not attained the age of 30 years on 31 Dee 2007. Permanent Commissioned Officers are eligible for time scale promotion upto the rank of LtCol/Colonel (TS) thereafter upto the rank of Lt General by selection.
