Grant of SSC/DPC in Army Dental Core

INDIAN ARMY

Grant of Direct Permanent Commistion (DPC) / Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Dental Corps Entry

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for grant of Direct Permanent Commission(DPC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Dental Corps.

Eligibility:

  • Directo Permanent Commission : Candidate must be BDS (with min. 60%) marks in final year/ MDS from a recognised College/University. Should have completed one year rotary internship recognised by Dental Council of India at the time of submission of application. (ii) Should be in possession of Permanent Dental Registration Certificate valid upto at least 31/12/2007 at the time of interview (iii) Candidates with BDS qualification must not have attained 28 years of age on 31/12/2007. Age relaxation upto 30 years in case of candidates with Post-Graduate qualifications.
  • Short Service Commission : Candidate must be BDS (with min. 55%) marks in final year/ MDS from a recognised College/University. (ii) Should have completed one year rotary internship recognised by Dental Council of India at the time of submission of application. (iii) Should be in possession of Permanent Dental Registration Certificate valid upto at least 31/12/2007 at the time of interview (iv) less than 45 years of age on 31/12/2007.

Selection Procedure :

  • Direct Permanent Commission : Candidates found eligible will shirtlisted based on their final BDS marks and attempts taken in Final BDS. They will be called for written test and Clinical Test followed by an Interview.
  • Direct Permanent Commission : Candidates found eligible will shirtlisted based on their final BDS marks and attempts taken in Final BDS. Short-listed candidates will be requied to appear before the Selection Board for interview only.

Pay : The candidates on commissioning in Army Dental Corps will be granted the rank of Capt. in the scale of Rs.9450-9600-300-11400 plus rank pay of Rs.400/-. Non-practicing allowance at the rate of 25% of the Basic pay and Dearness Allowance.

Promotion : SSC Officers are eligible for promotion upto the rank of Major. Permanent Commissioned Officers are eligible for time scale promotion upto the rank of Lt.Col./ Colonel (TS) thereafter upto the rank of Lt. Genera be selection.

Tenure : The tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 5 years (total SSC tenure 10 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria. However, on completion of 2 years service as SSC officer, they are eligible to apply for Departmental Permanent Commission provided they had not attained the age of 28 years on 31 Dee 2007 (30 years for MDS degree holders). Permanent Commissioned Officers are eligible for time scale promotion upto the rank of LtCol/Colonel (TS) thereafter upto the rank of Lt General by selection.

Fee : One DD of Rs.200/- payable at New Delhi in favour of "Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (AP Fund)"

How to Apply : : Candidates should apply to the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS/DENTAL), Room No.9, 'L' Block, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi -110001, on a plain paper giving particulars in the prescribed application form so as to reach by 02/07/07. Enclose one self-addressed post card for aknowledgement and one self addressed envelope of size 23 cms x 10 cms with Rs.6/- postal stamp affix for reply. Candidates applying for both should submit two applications for DPC and SSC saperately.

    • Qualification : As defined in the Dentist Act 1948 (ii) Post Graduate qualification in Denstistry i.e. M.D.S. from a recognised institution or equivalent (iii) should be registered with Dental Council (iv) 2 years experience as Registrar/ Tutor/ Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Clinical Assistant in the speciality of Dentistry in a recognised Dental College/ Medical College with Dental Wing/ Dental Institution (v) Knowledge of Kankani

3. Goa College of Engineering
