NCERT, which is an an apex organisation of Min. of HRD for Educational Research, Teacher Training and Development of Curriculum and Training material in school education. Deaprtment of Elementary Education (DEE), NCERT needs young people to work in schools for a period of six months in the selected states.
Job Profile : Working closely with teachers in translating ideas in Source Book into classroom practice for which school visits will be undertaken; Promote Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CEE) of every child, based on the Source Book material; Observe, monitor, record and report back to other functionaries about what is happening in classrooms; identify current practices being used for pupil assessment and notice the shift in this approach through the use of source book; Dialogue with teachers and the comunity on how to further improve the Source Book meterial.

Essential Qualification : Masters Degree in Social Scineces/ Humanities/ Science with 55% marks or B+ Grade and Fluencey in English and ony one of the languages, namely: Hindi, Tamil, Oriya, Konkani, Marathi, Malayalam and Assamese.

Desirable Qualification : NET/SLET; Experience of working in schools with young children; Working knowledge of computer and Willingness to travel extensively.

Age Limit : 30 years (Ralaxable upto 5 years for SC/ST/Female candidates)

Tenure : Assignment is purely temporary for a period of six months.

Salary : Rs.8000/- per month (consolidated) with NET/SLET and Rs.7000/- per month (consolidated) without NET/SLET. Travel costs will be taken care of for visits to schools, meeting, etc under the project; Stay at district/block level arrangements to be made by candidate herself/himself. Field trailing will be undertaken in 10 states at the district level namely Assam, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Goa. Geologists' Examination 2007 by UPSC

GEOLOGISTS' EXAMINATION , 2007

The Union Public Service commission will hold the Geologists' Examination 2007 commencing on 8th December, 2007 for recruitment to Geologist (Junior), Group A in the Geological Survey of India. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

Conditions of Elgibility

(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
  • Age Limit : Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st January, 2007. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

  • A candidate must hold (i) Master's Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognised University or (ii) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad or (iii) Master's Degree in Mineral Exploration from a recognsied university.

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Geologist's Examination, 2007 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Ooffices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-

Fee : Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.

Address and Last date for Receipt of Applications: All applicants must reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service commission, Dholpur house, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi - 110069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post only or by Courier, on or before 16/07/2007.
